Government General Degree College, Tehatta is nestled on the pleasant banks of the Jalangi river in the district of Nadia, West Bengal, India. The college, still under construction, besides the Kulgachi Road is a seat of heavenly beauty—partly due to the majestic river and partly due to the fertile lands that surround it—and a tranquil centre for the pursuit of knowledge. Tehatta, situated near the Bangladesh border, is a flourishing locality of Nadia District mainly because of its rich agricultural sites. Recently, Tehatta has become a sub-divisional town as well. There are two extremely high quality schools at Tehatta, one each for boys and girls. Our college is located in a peripheral region of Nadia district adjacent to the Bangladesh border, catering to a rural demographic. Most of our students predominantly hail from agricultural and migrant laborer families, and are often the first generation in their families to pursue higher education.
